NOTICE OF RACE
A low-key, fun, rally-type regatta is being held in the Pumicestone Passage by Bribie island Sailing Club for trailer sailers, off-the-beach sail boats and small multihulls.
The three-race series will comprise of two passage races on Saturday and one round-the-buoys race on Sunday.
Saturday’s Passage races comprise of a race up to Mission Point with a free B.B.Q. lunch and a return race.
Saturday night free berthage may be arranged at Pacific Harbour Marina with a free shuttle bus to the Bribie Island Hotel for a 5.30 kick-off with a convivial Pay-as-you-go dinner and bar with a free shuttle return to the marina. Berthage for the Friday and Sunday nights can be arranged at $30 per night.
Sunday’s race will start at 10.00 am and be finished by 1.00pm.
Staggered, Mark-Foy-type starts will be used with handicaps on both days to ensure vessels arrive at a similar time for the B.B.Q. lunch.
Random draw prizes will be awarded Saturday night including best-dressed crew (when racing) with Prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd over-all on Sunday by 2pm.
Dinner Saturday night can be purchased from Charlie’s Restaurant in the Bribie Island Hotel adjacent the function room.
Entries and berthage are limited and the cut off date for entries is 31st of August. Entry fee is $50 per boat.
Berthage is available free for Saturday night at Pacific Harbour Marina, anchor in the passage or leave the boats on their trailers in the carpark across the road from the hotel.
